Shortest Darood Sharif in English

The English translation of this Durood is “O Allah, send prayers and peace upon Our Master Muhammad and his Family”.

Importance Of Durood Shareef

The below Hadiths show how important it is for every Muslim to recite Durood.

Abdullah bin Mas’ud narrated that :

Allah’s Messenger said: “The person closest to me on the Day of Judgement is the one who sent the most Salat upon me.” – [Sunan al-Tirmidhī 484]

The gaining of ten blessings from Allah (SWT) for every one blessing upon the Messenger (peace be upon him). See the Hadith below:

‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Al-‘As (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: “Whoever supplicates Allah to exalt my mention, Allah will exalt his mention ten times.” – [Muslim]
